The most amazing module ever!

It's past midnight now and I suddenly just want to write something. Thus, I remember about my blog! It's been ages since I wrote something in my blog. I'll try to write something about what I've done during this gap of time.

I'm actually trying to do the summary of a research paper. I've read only half of it, but I think I have to make the summary first before I forgot what I've read. Moreover, it's really difficult to understand what it's about. I absolutely hate it.

In contrast, the reading from my management module is awesome. I really love it. In fact, the lecturer is real pro. I think this is the best module I've ever had so far. The lecture is completely fun. The concepts are very applicable. Everything is great. The lecturer really does have creative ideas. Though, despite those, I think it'll be very hard to score. Well, who cares? (I do, actually)

Anyway, I have fun. Coming up is NUANSA. I've been quite stress about it, but it will end soon. Even so, I actually enjoyed it. It's a priceless experience. So, if you have time, and if you are in Singapore, please come to watch our performance at University Cultural Centre in NUS at 8 pm.

A Dream Comes True

There is a girl that one of her dream comes true today. I'm sure she was really excited upon hearing the news. She is none other that Ivana Polim. She has been successful being shortlisted as a participant of IChO (International Chemistry Olympiad). Well, a big CONGRATULATIONS to you!

Well, this weekend I had another project from UNLEASHED! We had our on choir singing "We Are One", which is taken from the Lion King 2 theme. Why did w choose this song? It's just a simple reason. We are the former XII Science 1. ONE! The song was sung in SAB (Soprano, Alto, Baritone). Well, I was singing Alto. Today, we have just finished recording it. Let's just wait for the result.

Exciting and Exhausted!

I can say this past 7 days are the busiest days throughout my holiday this time. It started by the making of UNLEASHED! Movie. It was 2 days of shooting. I really can't wait for the final result of editing. After that, there was a briefing for NUS freshmen! The next day, UNLEASHED-ers went to Brastagi for 3d/2n trip! The trip was wonderful! Hahaha...

It's been a very exhausting week despite its fun. Anyway, I only have less than a month time for holiday in Medan!

Mr. Fix It! Do you have one at your home?

Argh.. Medan is still as hot as ever. I've been back to Medan for almost 3 weeks. Well, there's quite a lot of things I've done. Nice2... Tomorrow, UNLEASHED-ers are going to Brastagi. However, I even haven't known yet where and when to gather tomorrow. zzzz....

Today, I just wanna talk about my super great Dad! Wonderful! My dad is really a great man. Since I was small, I've been admiring him. Each time there's something wrong in my house, my Dad will find some way out to fix it. I still remember him made his own grass cutter. By the way, my Dad was graduated as an "Insinyur Listrik". So, anything wrong in electricity can be fixed in no time. In his xx-th birthday, my sister sent him a birthday card. It is written there "Mr. Fix It". There's where the nick come from.

Well, that's all for today! So far, playing guitar is quite fun. Hope I can play something nice after this holiday. Cheers!

Flu... srot2... Cough... uhuk2... um.. What'll I do in Medan?

It's been one week since I was back in Medan. I'm currently having a flu and cough... Well, it's getting better, but it's really annoying. Anyway, it's been really nice here in Medan.

So... this long holiday must be filled with something. If not it'll be really boring. So, I decided to learn to play guitar, using my dad's almost-40-year-old guitar. It's still nice, though. It'll start tomorrow. I'm really nervous... hahaha. My days in Singapore later can be filled with more music! Hahaha...

And, my father suggested me to take vocal lesson.... Well, not bad. Moreover, I'm bad in vocal. Who knows I can improve?

Another project from UNLEASHED!, UNLEASHED! Movie! First shooting, 6 June 09! Hahaha... Since Ady will not be in Medan, I'll switch for him.

Last but not least, briefing for NUS freshmen. 8 June 09. Hope my holiday is real fun!

DANG! I'M REALLY REALLY SURPRISED!

I'm HOME!!!! Well, I arrived on Wednesday night.

It's been a long off to my blogging session. Hm... I think the reason must be DotA and La Tale. Hahaha. However, since I am now in Medan, it's time to write something in my blog (while DotA and La Tale are not distracting me).

So... Yesterday, I went to watch movie with Ivana, Jaslyn, and Sandoko. We watched Night At The Museum 2. In my opinion, this movie is great, only that the trailer spoils too much of the funny scene. On the same day, the UNLEASHED was actually having a hang out. Nobody informed me about that beforehand. So, I missed it. Well, never mind. We'll be seeing each other later on the UNLEASHED movie making.

And TODAY! I gotta say it's a very nice plan, especially Harris. Despite your weird behaviour, I didn't sense any intention on deceiving me. Anyway, THANK YOU GUYS! FRANKLY, I AM REALLY SURPRISED! I'm surprised someone was playing the piano. I'm surprised someone with school uniform was hiding behind the table. I'm surprised it's actually to celebrate my already-late-birthday! To sum up, I'm really touched................... I really don't expect anything on this usual day which I originally plan to go to gym. Hahaha.

Well, thanks again! I can say today is the best day of this month!

It's Summer Holiday!

It's actually not summer holiday yet according to academic calender. However, since I've finished all my exams, I declare it's now summer holiday! Hahaha... I actually have finished my exam last Thursday though.

So, am I going back to Indonesia? Oh yeah, it's on 20 May! I've bought the ticket. So, wait for me!

Since this is a very very long holiday, I want to learn something new. But, I don't what is that. Hm... I think one important thing is to sharpen my Chinese. I'm sure it'll be very useful in the future.

Oh yeah... I was tagged by Jaslyn. But, I am really lazy to fill that up. So sorry. May be next time. Hahaha

One more left!

Yeah, it's finally only one left. After today's very dreadful and tough test, I can be relax for a while. So, the last one, this Thursday, 5 pm. with the module code MA1506 with title Mathematics II will be my very last exam for my first year in NUS.

Well, that's all. Let's see my plan for holiday after exam! Last one, but not the least!

Monday, 27 April 2009

Exam, Exam, Exam....

So far, I had done 2 of 5 tests. Result? Well, not so good, not so bad. More importantly, I'm quite satisfied. At least, I really get a grip of what I am learning from these modules. The next one will be about 3 hours from now. This one could be the toughest one, or probably not. Tomorrow's exam is also as difficult as this one. *sigh*

Well, anyway, I just need to do my best. Whatever the results be later, that reflects how I have been doing for this semester. Frankly, I don't expect it to be very good. I've played too much this semester. It's just because the modules this semester is quite fun, I can absorb better than usual.

Right now, I think I need to take a rest and prepare for the coming exam. Alright, let's take a nap!

Friday, 24 April 2009

Am I ready yet?

Wuah... Again, time sure flies. Reading week has come to its end and here comes the exams. My first paper will be tomorrow at 1 pm. I hope I can do it. I want to wish NUS students a good luck on their exams. Let's do it!

Friday, 17 April 2009

Here I am back!

Sigh... time sure flies. It's been 5 weeks since my last post. Hahaha... Don't why, I felt so lazy to write something in my blog. Well, anyway, here I am back!

So... what've I been doing for the past few weeks? The second part of the semester means there are projects! I had 2 projects this semester. First project is Financial Accounting. We were asked to analyse the annual financial report of Creative Technologies Ltd. This project is a group project. Well, I don't think I've done very well in this project. I don't know why, but I can't analyse financial very well. Hahaha... The second one is Digital Design project. I was building a circuit. The one I need to build is something like electronic bus card. I really spent a lot of time for this. Moreover, despite the circuit was completely built, it wasn't up to satisfaction. The circuit I built was awfully messy. Hahaha... Well, it's because after I rebuilt the circuit for the third time, I didn't feel like building it as tidy as possible. I just focused that it can finally worked (Luckily, it's worked!).

As all my lectures have ended, reading week has come! And... exam week also. Five modules means five exams and the first one is in less than 2 weeks. Um... actually, around this time at fortnight, I will have finished all my exams. Anyway, it's time for mugging. Wish me luck!

Irresistable Price

I'm now blogging on my Nokia 6670 while on the way back to PGPR by double decker bus no 143 from Orchard since it'll take quite a time. Hahaha. The GPRS is quite fast here. Moreover, my phone credit is more than enough. So, why not? Blogging can be done anywhere, anytime.

Well, with 2 Mid Term left, I am on the mood after today's test. It is unpredectably not that challenging. It raised up my mood for the day. I decided to refresh my disarray mind by hanging out somewhere. So, I came to Orchard. Since William and Hebert had their dinner beforehand, they went to look for something else. Meanwhile, two lonely guy will have to find something for their dinner.

So, Harris and I went here and there and finally had a yakisoba. It's quite cheap and nice. However, Harris was not satisfied enough. Thus, we went to look for other thing to eat. Originally, Harris wanted to eat at McD. But, there is an unbelievable promotion from KFC! (KFC is just beside McD). As the ads says, irresistable price, it's only $2.90 for a piece of chicken and french fries!

In fact, when we were having it, it was quite late already. Therefore, we couldn't really enjoy it. Anyway, it's really a good price! Hahaha.

Mid Term Week... So far not so good!

It's been almost a week since the life in NUS is back. As usual, after the recess week, Mid Term is waiting for us.

As for me, I had 5 Mid Terms! Well, I've finished 2 of them so far and it was not satisfactory enough.

First, it was Mathematics II. It was actually not so difficult in deriving its equation, but it was crazily tough to solve the integration. I felt like back to high school days. Really, I am weak in this kind of thing.

And, last night, I had Data Structures and Algorithm. In fact, this one is quite okay, but there were many confusing question and I couldn't make sure which is the answer(MCQ).

To sum up, so far not so good. What I hate in Mid Term is the MCQ question. Why? Because once you are wrong, you lose your whole mark, though it's just a stupid one. Moreover, I am bad at guessing.

That's 2 of 5. In a week time, I have 3 Mid Terms, 1 lab report, 1 take home lab, 1 seat in lab waiting for me! Hope I can do it...

Recess Week - A Week For Regenerating

As week 6 of 2nd semester has passed, the following week is the long-waited recess week. As its name implies, it's a week for "recess". Well, in fact, there are still many things to do. However, since there are no lectures or tutorials, we can spend our time freely (and wisely, I hope).

So, what am I gonna do the following week? Unfortunately, the first priority is still to study for Mid Term test, which is coming the week after recess. Despite that, nobody will spend the whole day for studying, of course.

One important thing I need to do is that I really really need to reorganize my room (and clean it thoroughly). The room is quite messy in the mean time, especially my table (full of unsorted books, papers, etc.).

Well, I hope I do spend my time wisely for the recess week. Oh, for juniors, do your best for the NTU UEE. Just give in all you got! "Break a leg!"

PS. "Break a leg!" -- taken from Gilbert's blog, suggested by Jaslyn. ^^

Argh... It's Never Ending

Sigh... It's been a while. These past 2 weeks was really really exhausting. Keeping up with the subject is really tough. Well, at least, I've been catching up now. However, new assignments keep coming and the mid term will be in another fortnight. Since I speed up, I think I really need some time to fully master the lesson. Looks like I have to spend more time for revising at the recess week.

Nonetheless, I'm really not in the mood to study. Although, I've caught up with the lesson, well, at least until this week, everything is just like passing through along with the time. In the mean time, I still have all the assignments for next week waiting for me. Gosh, it is finally weekend, but I cannot feel relieved yet.

Alright, I think that's enough. I should not complaining too much. Why? Because if it's as I've planned, the next semester will be tougher than that. Looks like it's time to switch to "Hardworking" mode. Yeah2!

Oh, this morning, I received a very good news. CONGRATULATIONS! to Mr. Budianda for the scholarship offered by Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music! Well, buddy, I'm looking forward to spending time here with you!

It's 2 more hours here before the V-day. Wish you all a happy Valentine day!

Chinese New Year 2009

Happy Chinese New Year! Wish you all prosperity and good life!

Finally, it's time to update my blog. I had a week of CNY break (actually, I skipped 3 days =D). I returned to Indonesia. It was very nice since everyone in my family was coming back!

=Me, lil' Bro, Mom, Dad, Sis, Big Bro=

So, what did I do during this break? Not much. To avoid any disturbance, we went to Brastagi for 3 days so that we can enjoy ourselves because it's been a while since we had our time together. We watched movies, went to Simalem, had meal together. I also played "The Risk - The Lord of the Ring version" with my bro's.

Then, after I came back, I went to Jaslyn's house on the next day. The juniors were preparing for the NUS UEE (University Entrance Exam). They were so spirited! Actually, when my time, I was not as enthusiastic as them. Even though, I did really concentrate on it. Seeing them like that, I really wished them all the best. I wish I can see you all in NUS next year!

The following day, Ivana, Gilbert and I went to visit Mr. Khoe Tjok Tjin, my former Chemistry teacher. In the same time, there were two other people visiting them. To my surprise, they are David and Yenny, the very first students of him who went for IChO. I was very grateful to have a chance to know them.

The break was absolutely fun. However, as the consequences, I need to catch up fast! I hope I can do it. Anyway, I will keep trying to update my blog. Thanks for reading. ^^

New Semester New Spirit!

It's been a week since the new semester started. I decided to go and experience all modules before I write about the modules I am taking this semester. So, this semester I take 5 modules.

CS1102C - Data Structures and Algorithms
This module is the continuation of CS1101C (Programming Methodology) which I took last semester. While last semester we learned more about syntax, this semester we concentrate more on the data structures and algorithms. However, we are going to use C++ instead of C language. This module is 5 MC, as expected. I think this one will be the toughest for this semester.

MA1506 - Mathematics II
This module is also the continuation of last semester module, MA1505 (Mathematics I). In the second part, we learned mostly about differential equations. So far, the module could be very interesting. Moreover, the lecturer is still the same as the first one.

CS2100 - Computer Organisation
For this semester, I take two level 2000 modules, and this is one of them. The main objective of this module is for us to familiarize how computer works. For instance, how memory is stored in the computer. I spent 700+ points to get this module. = ='
Thus, I have to do well for it!

EE2006 - Digital Device
This is the other level 2000 module. I just recently knew that this module is actually for year 2 EE (electrical engineering) students. I don't know if this is a big mistake by taking this module this semester, but still it's just another tough module. Anyway, this module should be very interesting despite that.

ACC1002X - Financial Accounting
A popular module! Almost every single student in NUS would like to take this module! In the lecture theater, you can see people from all 1st to 4th year students from different faculties. This module the basic of any business module and it is actually very useful to upon our graduation. I decided to try this module this semester as my fifth module this semester.

The first four are actually my core modules. Although I only take 5 modules this semester, I must be grateful that I am not greedy. My core modules are actually quite time consuming since there are labs session for each of them. Moreover, I need to read A LOT for those modules. I just bought two new textbooks for financial accounting and computer organisation. It's because the new edition just published this year and it has quite a difference with the last edition.

Another thing that I need to consider is the special programme for computing. Since last semester result is quite good, I have a chance to apply for this special programme. I'm still considering it. I think I'll make my decision tomorrow.

Well, that's for this semester. Things are getting more and more heat up. I'm starting to feel the pace of struggling harder! (But, I think I will start pacing up after the CNY. XD)

December Holiday!

Hi, it's been a while since I wrote the last post. I was really lazy to write something while I was back in Medan. So, now, I am going to summarize what I did this holiday!

As I have written in last post, I came back after the Dhamma Camp. The very first place I went in Medan is my former high school. My friend, Aristo, insisted me to go to school to finalize our high school certificate. So, I went there. As expected, everyone was commenting about my long hair. =.=

I then went to visit Mr. Johnson. The first thing I checked was the photos of us. Argh! I knew it. There is another misspelt of my name! Oh no! T_T

Later on Christmast's Eve, we had a small party. I tried to gather as much people as possible. Luckily, it didn't end so bad. We had quite a number of us. Hahaha... We sure had fun that night!

=Christmast's Eve=

Three days before New Year, I went to Brastagi. We were actually going to fetch my mother at Sidikalang the next day. The next day, we went to Sidikalang. My mom was praticing Vipassana Bhavana for a week in Vihara Saddhavana, which is located there. On the way back, we stopped at Simalem.

=Vihara Saddhavana @ Sidikalang=

On New Year's Eve, I gathered some friend to spend the night together. We gathered at my house and watched movies... but ended up watching only one movie "Ip Man". This movie has a good moral story and it is very cool!

=New Year's Eve Gathering=

Well, the holiday is sure fun. The new semester is coming. It's time to study hard. However, since I am going back to Medan in a fortnight, I feel quite lazy. Hahaha ^^
